Rautaruukki continues to simplify group's legal structure

The Board of Directors of Rautaruukki Corporation has approved plans to merge the
company's fully owned subsidiaries Kiinteistö Oy Pakilantie 61-63, TOP-Teräs Oy
and Rautaruukki International Oy, with the parent company. The Boards of the
subsidiaries have for their part decided on merging on 31 October 2006.
 
All the subsidiaries will be merged without paying any merger consideration and
the goal is to complete the mergers by 1 April 2007.
 
The mergers will simplify the Group structure and cut fixed costs. The Group has
been reducing the number of legal entities since 2004.
 
Kiinteistö Oy Pakilantie 61-63, TOP-Teräs Oy and Rautaruukki International Oy
have no operational activities.
